Mark Marion is an Operating Partner at Tricap Partners & Co., working closely with client companies in the financing, acquisition and management of client investments. Most notably, Mr. Marion works closely with client companies in value creation initiatives in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector and provides considerable technology support for many of the firm’s client companies. Mr. Marion is considered a pioneer in leading mobile infrastructure communications projects, and the market development of cloud-based professional productivity platforms and services in the Americas Region. He has played a key role in the business development, sales and the implementation of innovative technology platforms throughout the United States and Latin America.
Mr. Marion most recently served as a Senior Advisor in various Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives aimed at creating economic growth through the expansion of the ICT sector in Florida. The Beacon Council, eMerge Americas, South Florida Tech Alliance, Miami-Dade County, State of Florida, etc., are actively engaged in bringing together thought leaders, entrepreneurs and technologists to promote economic growth through the innovative application of ICT technology. With these organizations, he led the engagement of the private sector in these initiatives. Mr. Marion also works with leading incubators/accelerators to identify early stage/middle market startups, serving in an advisory capacity in the due diligence process and assisting these companies in their initial rounds of financing.
Most recently, Mr. Marion served as Microsoft’s Latin America Region’s Lead Executive for partner ecosystem management and market development of professional productivity & cloud services platforms where significant market segment gains were made throughout the Americas. He also served as Vice President of Sales at Alcatel-Lucent Technologies, where he led sales and the implementation of messaging platforms to mobile services operators. Prior to that he also led the Alcatel-Lucent’s entry into the major Latin American markets in the sale of mobile infrastructure platforms. His career also afforded him the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in the Silicon Valley where he served as Regional Sales Director, Silicon Valley, AT&T. He led the engagement with key client engineering teams to develop network architecture(s) that supported the demands of the leading tech sector companies in the Valley.
Mr. Marion received a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley. He also completed the “International Management, International Business” Executive Program at Thunderbird University in Phoenix AZ; and the “Advanced Information Systems Certification, Information Technology” Graduate Program at the Cambridge Institute in Cambridge MA.
